Pushing On
Denise
L. Folks
Pushing, pushing up a hill
A baby stroller forgot the pill...
The winter air upon my face
I bundle my baby and quicken my pace...
No one to help me carry my load
So alone I travel a teen motherhood road...
The daddy? I don't know where he's at
He stopped
coming around when my stomach got fat...
I hear he has a new girl now
Thinner, taller, medium brown...
My self-esteem in kinda low
Why didn't I listen? I shoulda said, No!
Pushing, pushing up a hill
A baby stroller, no
condom, no pill...
I can't
give up! Will not look back
No hand outs here. No dope. No crack...
Must keep on pushing until I reach the top
Mistakes will never make me stop...
From the lowest valley to the highest hill
I'll
press forward in God's mercy, grace and will...
Philippians 3:14
"I
press towards the mark for the price of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
